Technique: series of six interactive installations made of fabric filled with acrylic batting (suspension by steel cables) and videos.
Quero Que Exista is a series of six interactive fabric installations made on a human scale and exhibited in places of great circulation. Each piece works as an organ forming parallels with hearts, stomachs and uterus. Each one proposes in a different way the action of going from the interior to the exterior, of “being born”. Organic forms built with fabric and filling, through which the spectator is led to act with a certain degree of effort to enter or leave the comfortable casing.
These installations comprise the Quero Que Exista intervention, a project selected and developed within the scholarship Student-Artist Program of SAE (Student Support Service) at Unicamp - 4th edition. For a year and a half (2013-2014) the pieces were made and exhibited, individually and together, in various locations on the university campus.
From the consecutive exhibitions and the consequent wear and tear of the pieces, videos were created that contain the poetics and sensory experience of the pieces for recording and permanence of forms that materially no longer exist. The decision not to rebuild the installations that gave in to destruction is part of the work's organic character, respecting its place as a living body that is born, lived and inevitably dies.
The videos were then conceived as a means of continuing the work after the pieces had died. Each video brings a poetic synthesis of each one's initial proposal, unfolding to bring their sensory qualities:
